It was very difficult for me to choose one person to have as our star pupil for this week. But I received an email yesterday from Mr Parker who told me that Josh had given in the most brilliant homework. He actually said “Josh’s homework, WOW!”
I have also found that Josh has worked very hard. He always contributes; his answers are of the best quality and he always does his best. I think Josh would be brilliant as our first class “Star of the Week”.
Well done Josh
Dear Fielding,
I am so pleased with the way the last couple of weeks have gone. I think you have all made a very positive start and I am enjoying getting to know you very much. I love your enthusiasm and the way you have all supported each other as you have settled into the new school. Well done – you should all be very proud of yourselves.

As I found out back in July when you all came in for the day, you all have different feelings about starting secondary school. I thought it would be a lovely idea for us to put together a short video showing other people how we feel.
Click on the number 3 below to have a look at a video which comes from http://pbogush.edublogs.org/ This was produced by American students the same age as you.
Three Little Words
What to do
- Watch the video
- Brainstorm things you feel or would like to say about starting school
- Choose your 3 words from your brain storm
- Think about how you would like your words to be presented
- Prepare your words
- Let’s do it

When you were at primary school I am sure there were people you liked, some you didn’t and many you didn’t have strong feelings about one way or another.
Sometimes it is very easy to say things about other people without thinking about what it is that you are actually saying and I am sure sure that most of you sometimes have either said, or have been on the receiving end of, things that were not nice or pleasant.
Most people would agree that one of the most hurtful things that can happen is for someone to say things about us that are untrue, unkind or unecessary. These things make us feel bad about ourselves and can make us feel very unhappy.
In this form I expect that all of us will try our best not to be one of those people who cause others to be unhappy because we have said something unpleasant. I know that it is sometimes hard, but before you say anything about anyone else I want you to ask your self three things:

If you cannot say yes to all three of these questions then please don’t say it.
This is a new school, you will make new friends and so it is a time for new beginnings. Please make the most of it.

Hello everyone,
I’m so pleased to welcome you to our class blog. Through out the year I hope to add interesting and helpful things for you to do; put examples of student work; record the names of students who have been made “Learner of the Week”; competitions and much more.
If you can think of anything I should include please just let me know.
